Pobjoy R
The Pobjoy R was a British air-cooled 7-cylinder - radial engine , which by the company Pobjoy Airmotors was developed and manufactured.
development
Launched in 1926, it became a widely used engine in the 1930s on light and small aircraft. From 1933 it was built under license as Mira R by Walter in the Czech Republic . The reduction gear mounted on the motor housing made it possible to operate the motor in a high speed range that was favorable in terms of performance. Due to the gearbox, the propeller shaft protruded off-center from the engine. The engine was supplied with oil via dry sump lubrication.
