Podiatrics

The Podiatry (Greek πόδἰ = foot and ἰατρός is = doctor) the medical field that deals with the treatment of diseases of the foot concerned, its anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology.

The term is mainly used in the English-speaking world and has recently been used to refer to so-called podiatrists , doctors who specialize in foot surgery, based on current American podiatry .

In English, the term also stands for non-medical medicine on the foot, as practiced by physiotherapists, reflexologists and medical podiatrists and which is referred to in Germany as podiatry .
