Point Udall

Point Udall denotes both the easternmost and westernmost point in the United States . The term Udall Point is also occasionally used , it is used synonymously.

At the eastern end of the island of Saint Croix , which belongs to the American Virgin Islands , lies the easternmost point in the USA, named after the politician Stewart Lee Udall . On January 1, 2000, a sundial , the so-called Millennium Monument , was installed here.

The western counterpart, named after Mo Udall , the brother of Stewart Udall, belongs to the Orote Peninsula on Guam .

The sun now not only rises over Point Udall, but also sets , as stated in the Congress resolution for the baptism of the western point.
