The Pointe Noire ( French for Black Headland ) is a small, rocky headland in the south of the Pétrel Island in the Géologie Archipelago off the coast of the East Antarctic Adélieland . It lies between the Anse du Pré and the Chenal Buffon .
French scholars named it descriptively in 1977.
