Polarity

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polarity (English for polarity is) an alternative medical therapy fuzzy definition. It was originally a mixture of cranio-sacral therapy and Ayurveda motifs , devised by the Austrian osteopath Rudolf Bautsch (1890–1981), who immigrated to the USA as a child and called himself Randolph Stone there . Stone used the laying on of hands to influence an assumed "life energy" and thus to solve mental and spiritual "blockages" or problems. Today's naturopaths supplement this with a variety of other methods.

The name refers to the fact that this “life energy” supposedly flows back and forth between “poles”. In addition, the application should harmonize polarities such as activity / passivity in order to achieve a balanced and healthy life. Scientific studies or proof of effectiveness are not available. In Switzerland, Stone's polarity therapy is included in the supplementary insurance of alternative medicine with some health insurance companies. In Germany, health insurances do not cover the costs.
