Pole Poppenspäler Museum

The Poppenspäler Museum in the castle in front of Husum in the König-Friedrich-V.-Allee in Husum is a museum about puppetry .

The Poppenspäler Museum was opened in 1993 on the occasion of the 10th International Puppet Theater Festival of the "Pole Poppenspäler Tage". The Poppenspäler Museum is named after the novella by Theodor Storm . After several moves, it has been located in the lap of Husum since 2013. This is where mainly exhibits from professional stages that have a connection to the festival or the state of Schleswig-Holstein come together. His inventory includes around 500 figures of various types and origins, including exhibits by Theo Eggink and Till de Kock , Antje Hohmuth , Jutta Balk , Peter Röders , PK Steinmann , Dieter Kieselstein , FH Bross and others. Kasper hand puppets and marionettes from numerous countries are shown on a Kasper carousel . Furthermore, props and materials on the history of puppet theater can be seen in the museum. Theater performances take place both in the castle in front of Husum and at the Poppenspäler Wagen, which has been in Tönning from May to September since 2011.
