Peter Röders

Peter Röders (* before 1960) is a German puppet maker , puppeteer and puppet theater director .

In his fabula film puppet workshop in Idstedt , which he has been running since 1971, all types of puppets are made, from hand puppets to film puppets to large figures with electronic control mechanisms. For example, the Expo 2000 mascots Twipsy and Karlchen are known . Karlchen is a snap -mouth figure with whom Björn-Hergen Schimpf presented a series of programs on RTL . Even Mr. von Bödefeld , the only German doll in Sesame Street , was built in Idstedt and Benita Steinmann talked and played.

As a puppeteer, Peter Röders shaped and played Samson from Sesame Street from 1978 to 1983 .

With their fabula-theater the couple travels the German-speaking area and plays with puppets, figures and objects as guest theater mainly for children. The Röders were also represented with their productions at national and international puppet theater festivals.

Röders takes on the role of author and director in his theater, and also staged at other puppet theaters.

Furthermore, Röders operated the free educational facility for puppet theater in Idstedt for the further training of professional puppeteers with funding from the state of Schleswig-Holstein .
