Polina Dashkova

Polina Daschkowa ( Russian Поли́на Да́шкова ; * July 14, 1960 in Moscow as Tatiana Viktorovna Polatschenko ) is a Russian crime writer. Her books have reached a total circulation of 25 million copies to date.

She studied at the Gorky Literature Institute and worked as a journalist for a literary magazine and as a parliamentary reporter.

She began writing in the 1970s, initially poetry. Before her first detective novel came out in 1996, she also translated books from English. She lives in Moscow with her husband, a documentary filmmaker, and their two daughters. In 2006 she received the Radio Bremen detective award .
