Proclamation ( RGBl. I 1938, p. 1676)

The police ordinance on the appearance of Jews in public was an ordinance of the German Interior Ministry under Wilhelm Frick from 1938.

The ordinance came into force on November 29, 1938 (in Austria after announcement by Reich Governor Arthur Seyß-Inquart on November 30) and was repealed on September 20, 1945 with the Allied Control Council Act No. 1 concerning the repeal of Nazi law .

It enabled regional government agencies to forbid German or stateless Jews from staying in certain areas, or to forbid them from appearing in public at certain times. Violation was punishable by a fine or imprisonment.
