Polkaholix is a polka rock band from Berlin . It uses many genres, such as rock 'n' roll , ska , punk and folk . The band was formed in 2002.

The Polkaholix debut album Denkste was voted into the top 20 of the World Music Charts Europe . Denkste also received nominations for the quarterly best list for the German Record Critics' Prize and Ruth , the Prize for Folk, Lied and World Music.

Tours have taken the band to Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Finland, Croatia, Portugal (including the Azores and Madeira), the Faroe Islands and Italy.

The 2007 CD The Great Polka Swindle was awarded the German Record Critics' Prize in November 2007 in the “Folk / World Music” category. This CD also received a nomination for Ruth and landed in the Top 20 of the World Music Charts Europe as well as in the top song list.
