The Polo per le Libertà (German: Pol for Freedoms ) was a center-right electoral alliance in Italy , formed for the 1996 parliamentary elections . The alliance succeeded the Polo del Buon Governo (in central and southern Italy) and Polo delle Libertà (in northern Italy) and was led by Silvio Berlusconi . It consisted of the following parties:

The Lega Nord , which was part of the Polo delle Libertà in 1994, competed separately in 1996. The center-right camp lost the election and stood in opposition to the governments of the center-left alliance L'Ulivo until 2001 . Towards the end of the legislative period, Lega Nord and the parties of the Polo per le Libertà converged again and formed a new alliance for the 2001 elections called Casa delle Libertà .
