The company's products are used in a large number of industries, such as consumer goods, electronics, medical technology, packaging and textile industries, as well as in general mechanical and vehicle construction.
PolyOne was formed in 2000 through the merger of The Geon Company and the MA Hanna Company . Geon itself was founded in 1993 by a spin-off of the plastics business of Goodrich Corporation .
