Otto Samhaber

Otto Samhaber (born July 20, 1869 in Aschaffenburg , † after 1922) was a German photographer .

Life

Otto Franz Samhaber was a son of the photographer Joseph Samhaber and his wife Anna Aloisa Eleonore, geb. Stenger. He had a half-brother from his father's first marriage, Constantin Samhaber , and several full siblings, including Franz Samhaber . Otto Samhaber worked as a photographer in Zweibrücken ; previously he had apparently worked in the A. Hennemann & O. Samhaber atelier in Göppingen . Otto Samhaber married Elisabetha Hennemann.

He was honored in Nice and was a royal Bavarian court photographer. His studio in Zweibrücken was at Schillerstraße 14. Samhaber is documented as a photographer until 1922.

  2. Most sources assume that he was based there at least from 1899, but according to a description of auction items on www.lotsearch.de he photographed the inauguration of the Bismarck monument there as early as 1894.
