Polydirectionality

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Polydirectionality (roughly: multiple orientation ) is the continuation of bidirectionality in networked structures . The term is mainly used in media-theoretical discourses and describes the comprehensive communication possibilities of modern communication network systems such as the World Wide Web :

In the early days of telecommunications , attempts were often made to define the role of recipient and communicator as essentially unidirectional , as is customary in mass media . However, these concepts have not been able to establish themselves (e.g. BTX ) or have merged into polydirectional networked communication structures such as the World Wide Web.
