Polyplastics KK ( Japanese ポ リ プ ラ ス チ ッ ク ス 株式会社 , Poripurasuchikkusu kabushiki kaisha ; English Polyplastics Co., Ltd. ) is a Japanese company that specializes in the manufacture and sale of engineering plastics.

History and corporate structure

In 1964 , Polyplastics was founded as a joint venture by Daicel Kagaku Kōgyō, engl. Daicel Chemical Industries , (Japan) and Celanese Corporation (USA) founded. Today Daicel owns 55 percent and the Celanese company Ticona 45 percent of Polyplastics.

Polyplastics has subsidiaries in Hong Kong (China), Shanghai (China), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Singapore, Mumbai (India) and Bangkok (Thailand) and is involved in the following companies:

  • Polyplastics Taiwan
  • PTM Engineering Plastics, Nantong / China
  • WinTech Polymer, Tokyo / Japan

2006 sold Ticona which the Topas division cyclo-olefin copolymer ( abbreviation produces COC) and distributes, to Daicel and Polyplastics; Topas production and sales are now bundled in the new company Topas Advanced Polymers.

Products

The company primarily produces polyacetal (POM) under the trade name Duracon . The company's Fuji Plant has a production capacity of 100,000 t / year. Polyplastics also produces the following products:
