A Pompon (also called a pom-pon , Puschel or Puschen referred to) is a link Cheerleading used dance Wedel.

The pom-poms appeared after the Second World War and are intended to visually emphasize the rhythmic arm movements of the cheerleaders. It was initially made from fabric , later also from paper . Polyvinyl chloride was used for the first time around 1965, and since then plastic has established itself as a weather-resistant material. There are now numerous shape and color variations. In Germany pompoms also available on the Carnival at guard dance groups use.
