Pomponius Porphyrio
Pomponius Porphyrio (also Pomponius Porphyrion ) was a Roman grammarian and author of a commentary on Horace . He was a teacher in Rome in the early 3rd century.
Porphyry may have come from Africa. His commentary on Horace focuses on rhetorical and grammatical analyzes. The work has only survived in a version that was heavily interpolated and abridged in the Middle Ages .
