The Pont de Bornègre is an aqueduct bridge of the Roman aqueduct to Nîmes ( France ), which also includes the world-famous Pont du Gard . It is located in the initial section of the approx. 50 km long route, 6,745 m after the Eure source and 9,061 m before the Pont du Gard. The bridge carried the water pipe over a seasonal water-bearing torrent, which, according to current calculations , can carry up to 5 m³ / s of water in a catchment area of 0.6–0.8 km² . Its three segment arches consist of wedge stones that take up the entire width of the structure; the total spans are approx. 17 m. Two of the three arches are now buried over the fighter points . After the aqueduct fell into disrepair in the Middle Ages , the Bornègre bridge was converted into a pedestrian crossing like its big sister over the Gard .
