Pont mégalithique by Lablachère
The Pont mégalithique von Lablachère (or the megalithic bridge in the hamlet of Prieuré) is a flat - very likely medieval - flagstone bridge over the Masseloup , a tributary of the Sébézol near the village of Lablachère in the Ardèche department in southern France .
The bridge is mainly used in times of heavy rain in October, November and April, because the stream can usually be waded through in summer and winter. The sandstone blocks were broken in the immediate vicinity. The vertical monolithic panels are connected to horizontal panels made of the same material.
The usable passage in the middle is 1.80 m, about 1.0 m above the elevated water level, but the usable height there is significantly lower due to the sloping terrain.
