The Ponta de Santo Antônio is a strait in the Brazilian state of Bahia . It is the northern connection between the All Saints Bay ( Portuguese Baía de Todos os Santos ) and the Atlantic . The approximately 8 km wide waterway runs between the city of Salvador da Bahia and the Ilha de Itaparica . At its entrance is the Barra lighthouse .
