Ponte Storto

Ponte Storto (Canaregio)

Ponte Storto is the name for ten bridges in Venice . They owe this name to the fact that they do not follow a straight road, but cross a canal at an angle (ital. Storto ). Some have a second name, like the Ponte Calegheri in the Sestiere San Marco . It connects the Campiello Calegheri with the Fondamenta Fenice and owes its name to the Schuhmacherviertel (Schuhmacher, Italian: Calegheri ) in which it is located.
