Poop
The poop , also called the poop deck or puppet deck , in literature also called hut deck , is one of the decks on a ship .

The poop deck is the top aft ship deck ( aft deck ) of a ship, especially a sailing ship . The word poop is derived from the Latin word puppis , which freely translated means aft . Strictly speaking, the poop is the flat roof of the top hut on the back deck.
This deck was and is often planked with teak , including steel windjammers . Due to its elevated position and the good field of view of almost all other decks, the ship's officers liked to use it to monitor the work of the crew on board.
