The Porencephaly (v. Greek. Πόρος, Poros , "pass" and κεφαλή in give a wiki. Pronunciation kephale , "head") is, according to current knowledge, a congenital or peripartal acquired, due to local circulatory disorders brain malformation. As pseudo-poreencephaly , it can also be caused by cerebral haemorrhage or trauma . There is necrosis in the marrow and cortex of the immature cerebrum and subsequent gap formation in the brain substance in the form of crater-shaped, smooth indentations on the brain surface (Pori - after Siegmund). These can connect with the outer subarachnoid space (external poreencephaly) or deeply with the ventricular system (internal poreencephaly).

If pori develop after the pulp has matured in the second year of life, these can have fat granule and pigment cells in addition to organizational processes. In adults, the formation of pores does not occur due to the sufficient supply of the outer layers of the cortex via the cerebrospinal fluid .

Depending on the location, the loss of parenchyma can remain symptom-free or cause seizures , paralysis and disorders of the extrapyramidal system (EPS) .
