Pornographic magazine

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A printed press product is referred to as a pornographic magazine , colloquially also known as a pornographic magazine or a pornographic magazine , which partly or predominantly contains pornographic texts and images. It can contain unrelated images as well as stories with completed frameworks.

history

During the 1970s to 1990s, there were very high print runs in this market segment. However, sales have been declining since the nationwide supply of private households with Internet connections. One of the reasons for this is the technological advancement and the resulting change in consumer behavior. While a pornographic magazine used to be the easiest and cheapest way to consume pornography, the internet now offers a wide range of products and a higher degree of anonymity for consumers than buying print magazines in shops. Furthermore, photos and videos can be taken with you almost anywhere using mobile devices such as laptops and tablet computers, so that the need for printed versions has fallen sharply.

Many magazines contained extensive contact market pages on which it was possible to place contact advertisements for free or for a fee. Since the Internet was not yet available in the past, this was a way of anonymous contact via cipher numbers.

A well-known magazine of this genre that is still in production is, for example, Happy Weekend .

useful information

As in the case of pornographic films , it used to be common in pornographic magazines to use sperm substitutes, which sometimes made the images appear very fake. However, this made production easier for the publisher, since the relevant scenes could be displayed very easily and quickly.

The sale and presentation of pornographic magazines is generally only permitted in Germany in accordance with Section 184 of the Criminal Code if it is ensured that people under the age of 18 cannot have access to the material. However, especially during the 1990s, this was only ensured to a limited extent, especially in supermarkets and petrol stations. One variant that helped was packing in closed, non-transparent envelopes that could only be opened after purchase.

It was common for publishers to resell and exchange some of the photos of the actors among themselves , but then to write their own texts. These terse, mostly vulgar texts and the predominant part of the explicit image made a clear distinction from erotic literature .

Very often the notebooks were specifically adapted to the respective sexual orientation of their respective consumers. They then mainly contained depictions of, for example, group sex , homosexuality , sex with a large age difference, pee , caviar and sadomasochism .

Today's distribution

Many well-known titles were discontinued or switched to electronic versions and subscriptions during the 2000s. Various providers now offer, in some cases, extensive Internet archives which, for an access fee, offer the option of downloading previous editions and, if necessary, printing them out yourself. However, copyright aspects must be taken into account, as declarations of consent are not always available from the original editors and publishers.

With the advent of color scanners and digital cameras, large amounts of old photo material from porn magazines were also reprocessed and put on the Internet.
