The Porro Bluff is a rock cliff on the Danco Coast of Graham lands north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It lies south of Birdsend Bluff and overlooks the Errera Canal .
The cliff was first recorded namelessly on an Argentine map in 1950. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on September 23, 1960 after the Italian engineer Ignazio Porro (1801-1875), the inventor of the Porro prism , who had also made important contributions to the development of stereo microscopes .
