Port Royal is a play by the French playwright Henry de Montherlant (1954).

The focus is on the nuns of the Port Royal des Champs monastery , who assert themselves against interrogation of the Catholics and keep their inner faith. The focus is on the mother Angèlique and the young novice Françoise.

Montherlant reveals that even members of a religious community are consumed by ambition. A deep friendship exists between Sister Angélique and the weak, sensitive Sister Françoise, who is not sure that the rigors of discipline at Port Royal are for her. The piece deals with Françoise's spiritual ascent towards light, resignation and complete sacrifice. At the end of the, Françoise confronts the Archbishop with an accusing speech.
