Renée Faure (born April 14, 1919 in Paris , † May 2, 2005 in Clamart , Hauts-de-Seine ) was a French actress .

Life

Renée Faure, who was a member of the French Legion of Honor , played from 1937 to 1964 in the ensemble of the renowned Comédie-Française . She achieved international fame in 1947 alongside Gérard Philipes in the Stendhal film Die Kartause von Parma . In the following years she played in numerous French and international film and television productions under well-known directors such as Henri Verneuil ( The President ), Christian-Jaque ( Lovable Women ) and Robert Bresson ( The Song of Songs ) as well as alongside famous colleagues such as Philippe Noiret ( The Richter and the Murderer ), Jean-Paul Belmondo ( The Eerie House ) and in several films Jean Gabin ( The President , Wiesenstrasse No. 10 , Volcano in the Blood ).
