Portishead ( Somerset ) is a town of about 25,000 inhabitants in the region South West in England , United Kingdom . The city has a fishing port and has grown rapidly in recent years.
The music group Portishead is named after this city.
From 1928 to 2000 there was a coast radio station at Highbridge called Portishead Radio , about 30 km southwest of Portishead. It was the world's most widely used and largest coastal radio station in the world.
