The Pot'onggang Hot'el (보통 강 호텔) is a hotel in the North Korean capital Pyongyang . The name refers to the Pothong-gang river . The facility is specially designed for foreign tourists . The building has nine floors and 162 rooms. It was built in the 1970s. In the early 1990s it was bought by Sun Myung Moon (1920–2012), the founder of the so-called Unification Church, after meeting Kim Il-sung . It was modernized in the late 1990s. The hotel is located in the P'yŏngch'ŏn-guyŏk ( Ansan-dong ) district. There are restaurants , a bar , swimming pool , karaoke and indoor golf available to guests. All rooms have air conditioning .
