The Wedge Tomb Poulaphuca ( Irish Poll an Phúca "the hole of the Púca ") ( English Fairies Cave ) - ( German  "Cave of the fairies" - also called Wedge Tomb by Meggagh) is west of the scattered settlement Carran on a hill in the Burren region of the county Clare in Ireland . The name Poulaphuca is more common in Ireland. Wedge Tombs ( German  "Keilgräber" ), formerly also called "wedge-shaped gallery grave", are aisle-free, mostly undivided megalithic buildings from the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age .

Wedge Tomb in the Burren

A small box-like chamber made from the slab of limestone from the Burren has been preserved, while the stones of the cairn were probably part of the Burren's endless dry stone walls . The four panels obtained each form one of the sides and the ceiling, while the front panel is missing. There are two small cairns nearby.
