In the northwest the place borders on County Galway .
The village center consists of the restaurant and pub Cassidy's Pub , the Clares Rock Hostel , a church, a school and the old school which houses the Burren-Life director's office. Within a few kilometers one can reach The Burren Parfumery , Caherconnell Fort, a prehistoric settlement, the Poulnabrone Dolmen , two Turloughs (seepage lake) and the typical karst landscape of the Burrens.
