Poundland is a British chain of stores that sells most goods for one pound sterling each. The first store opened in Burton-upon-Trent in December 1990 and four more followed in the same year.

The company's headquarters are in Willenhall ( West Midlands ). Poundland employed 7,000 people in 254 stores in early 2010. In mid-2013 the number of branches in Great Britain was 450, in 2016 it had risen to 896 with 18,000 employees.
