Považský hrad (Waagburg) is a ruin in Považská Bystrica in the Považie region of Slovakia . It is located on a mountain on the right bank of the Váh .
history
A building was originally built on this site in the 12th century. The Waagburg (Považský hrad) itself dates from the 14th century (1316). In 1543 the lower parts of the outer bailey were built after a fire . In 1698 it was razed on the orders of Leopold I.
