The Poweshiek County Courthouse in Montezuma is the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Poweshiek County of middle-southeast US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .
The current building is the second courthouse in Poweshiek County, founded in 1843. In 1850, a two-story building was erected as the first courthouse, which was also used as a church and school.
Today's Courthouse is a two-story brick building built in 1859 according to a design by the architectural firm Drake & Dryden in the style of the Greek Revival . In 1890 the building was expanded; the foundations were reinforced in 1934.
In 1981 the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places with reference number 81000266 .
