The Chiba Prefecture Police ( Japanese 千葉 県 警察 Chiba-ken keisatsu , short 千葉 県 警 Chiba kenkei ) are the police of the Japanese prefecture ( ken ) Chiba . As in all prefectures, it is under the supervision of the Public Security Commission, which is appointed by the Governor with the consent of Parliament . Chiba is part of the Kantō Police Supervision District ( 関 東 管 区 警察局Kantō kanku keisatsu-kyoku ; headquarters in the city of Saitama, regional police school in the city of Kodaira in Tokyo) for coordination and equipment by the national police authority .

With around 12,000 police officers, the Chiba Prefecture Police are one of the largest in the country. There are 39 police stations in Chiba. Chiba also has Narita Airport in the city of Narita, Japan's most important international airport since its completion, and the international airport security unit of the Chiba Prefectural Police ( 成 田 国際 空港 警備 隊 Narita kokusai kūkō keibitai ) also provides security at airports in other places Prefectures send specially trained personnel to other prefectural police forces.
