The Prédio Abreu, Santos e Rocha , in English "Abreu, Santos and Rocha building", is an office building with modernist architecture in the Mozambican capital Maputo . The building, designed in 1954–56, is located on the corner of Avenida da Guerra Popular / Rua Consiglieri Pedro , or on Praça dos Trabalhadores .
Pancho Guedes designed the office building in 1953, according to other sources between 1954 and 1956. The seven-story building is L-shaped, with one side facing today's Avenida da Guerra Popular and the other facing Rua Consiglieri Pedro . The three completely different facades are particularly striking: towards the Guerra Popular, a wall relief with opaque and translucent elements; on the corner, between the two parts of the building, a large wall mosaic made of pebbles with traditional, African themes and, facing the Consiglieri Pedro, a facade with numerous vertical sun protection elements.
Today the building houses offices of the state oil company Petromoc .
It is registered with the number 31688 in the Portuguese monument database Sistema de Informação para o Património Arquitectónico , which also includes works by former Portuguese colonies.
