Pragati Maidan ( Hindi : प्रगति मैदान) is a conference and exhibition center in New Delhi with 72,000 m² of exhibition space. It is managed by the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO), an offshoot of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Government of India.

The overall concept was created by the architect Raj Rewal , who also designed some of the most important buildings, e.g. B. the Hall of Nations . It was opened by then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on November 3, 1972 , on the eve of the Asia 72 international fair . Important events are the India International Trade Fair , the World Book Fair and the Auto Expo motor show .

In 2017, the famous Hall of Nations was demolished during a legal battle over the protection of the building. World Monuments Fund then put the Indian post-war architecture of Delhi on the 2018 Monuments at Watch list.
