Praktica B 200
The Praktica B 200 is the first camera in the Praktica B series, a series of SLR cameras from the manufacturer Pentacon that had a lens bayonet connection instead of a screw thread.
The cameras manufactured in the GDR were also exported outside the Eastern Bloc . It was produced from December 1979 to August 1982. While the chrome-colored Praktica BCX is technically identical to the Praktica B 200, the black BCX is a variation of the Praktica BC 1 . Both BCX were manufactured for export to the UK.
The new camera design was created in the design office of VEB Kombinat Pentacon Dresden under the direction of Manfred Claus. In 1979 the office for industrial design awarded the design prize "Gutes Design DDR".

- Pentaprismic viewfinder with 95% field of view, triple focus thanks to a new type of triple measuring wedge (sectional image), microprismatic ring and matte ring, red LEDs to display the selected (flashing) and measured (constant) exposure time, mirrored lens aperture display on the lower edge of the viewfinder image
- Exposure lock button, mechanical self-timer, shutter slide
- Hot shoe and additional coaxial flash connection with X synchronization (1/90 s)
- Connection option for motor winder
- frame counter that resets when the rear panel is opened, shutter release
- Memo holder on the back of the camera
