The impact plate scale , also often referred to as bulk goods scale, is used for continuous weight measurement of bulk goods in closed systems.

The scales can be used for monitoring in the production process or for exact filling of quantities. The total quantity of the current batch, the current flow rate in kilograms or tons per hour and other freely adjustable information are displayed. The scale can be calibrated for various products , such as powder and flours, but also granulates and grains .

Measuring principle

When acting on the impact plate, the impact force of the bulk material generates a mechanical deflection. This is determined by a sensor and converted into an electrical signal . The baffle plate is only connected to the measuring device via a lever . When the bulk material hits the impact plate, the impact force can be measured by the deflection. The output signal of the high-resolution differential transformer, which is a measure of the deflection, is converted into a fail-safe digital PFM signal. This signal is then evaluated. Material deposits on the baffle plate itself do not result in any zero point changes, because only horizontal forces are transmitted.
