Praxedis Hug-Rütti (* 1958 in Zug ) is a Swiss harpist . Together with her daughter, the pianist Praxedis Geneviève Hug , she forms the Duo Praxedis.

Life

Hug-Rütti studied harp with Maria Curzio in London and with Emmy Hürlimann , the former solo harpist at the Tonhalle Zurich . She then graduated from the Zurich Conservatory in 1978 with a diploma and continued her studies in England.

Between 1974 and 1979 she gave concerts as a pianist. Since 1982 she has appeared internationally as a harpist as a soloist and in various ensembles at home and abroad, including giving concerts with the Festival Strings Lucerne at the Lucerne Music Festival in 1985. She had various appearances at well-known festivals such as the Engadin Festival (2013), the Gstaad Menuhin Festival (2014) and the Esterhazy Music Days in Esterhazy Palace (2011).

Since 2009 she has been giving concerts at home and abroad together with Praxedis Geneviève Hug under the name Duo Praxedis (harp / piano), thus attracting interest from the international press. The last album of the duo 'original Classics' was released in 2015 and was reviewed by print and online magazines. a. from Concerti, the online blog HarpColumn or Planet Hugill.
