Precision Manuals Development Group (PMDG) is an American software developer , the only aircraft - extensions for PC flight simulators produced.

history

The company based near Reno (Nevada) was founded in January 1998 as a small specialist publisher. The first PMDG product was an additional manual for the Precision Simulator simulation software from the German company Aerowinx , which went beyond the scope of the manual supplied and appeared in February 1998. After differences with Aerowinx, this publication was withdrawn two years later. Another early release was a similarly designed manual for Microsoft Flight Simulator 98 . Shortly afterwards, the business field was switched to the development of commercial aircraft for the flight simulator Fly! relocated. Since 2002 add-ons have also been developed for flight simulators based on Microsoft Flight Simulator (or Microsoft ESP), currently for Microsoft Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) and Lockheed Martin Prepar3D (P3D). The first add-on for X-Plane is currently being worked on . PMDG won numerous awards for the detailed implementation of various types of aircraft.

For a more detailed and realistic implementation of systems, models and flight behavior, PMDG cooperates with Boeing and licenses its FSX products exclusively as entertainment software for private individuals. Use as training software is not permitted in the FSX. For this purpose Prepar3D was selected as the platform where current and upcoming add-ons are sold as training software through licensing.
