The prize for innovation in adult education has been awarded every two years since 1997 by the German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Center for Lifelong Learning eV (DIE) in Bonn for special achievements in adult education .

The award aims to publicize new and promising approaches in continuing education and to open them up to a broader public for discussion. One of the central criteria for awarding the projects is that they must be innovative and tried and tested and that they give adult education new impetus.
