Pricing

The pricing (including quotations ) in Germany according to price regulation (PAngV) or the price Address in Switzerland in accordance with price announcement Regulation (PBV) is according to the specifications of the opposite end users make mandatory the final price.

Situation in Germany

Anyone who offers end consumers services or goods on a commercial basis, or who advertises prices, is obliged to indicate the price including sales tax (VAT) and any additional price components that may arise. The so-called final price must be immediately apparent. The deposit does not count towards the final price (e.g. for returnable bottles or one-way containers ). This must be stated in addition to the final price.

The end consumer is someone who purchases a product or service for private consumption. The Price Indication Ordinance therefore does not apply to wholesaling with commercial customers as long as it is ensured that no goods are sold to end consumers.

All prices quoted must be clearly assignable to the corresponding goods or services. They must be easily recognizable and clearly legible. If individual prices are broken down, each individual price must contain the various price components. The total price of all individual parts should be clearly emphasized.

For many goods, according to the basic price regulation, there is an obligation to indicate a basic price in addition to the final price. This applies to goods that are offered according to length, area, volume or weight. In addition to many foods, these include, for example, fabrics, threads, potting soil. Such goods are to be labeled with a price per basic unit (1 meter, 1 kilogram, 1 liter, etc.). There are a number of exceptions to this labeling requirement , for example for a nominal weight of less than 10 g or a nominal volume of less than 10 ml, goods from vending machines or goods made from different types of products that are not mixed with one another.
