Premier Power
Premier Power is a power company in Northern Ireland .
The company was founded in 1992 following the privatization of the electricity supply in Northern Ireland. Previously, Northern Ireland Electricity (NIE) was responsible for the operation of the local power plants and networks. The BG Group bought the Ballylumford power station from NIE and set up Premier Power as the operating company.
With the power plant in Ballylumford , Premier Power can currently cover 50% of Northern Ireland's and 17% of all of Ireland's electricity consumption.
