Premium Platform Electric

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Premium Platform Electric (PPE) is the name of the modular platform system for the “Premium” segment of electric vehicles from the VW Group . This exists alongside the MEB platform for standard-segment electric vehicles. The Audi and Porsche brands are responsible for developing the PPE group platform . The first vehicles based on this are expected to hit the market in 2021.

Purpose and direction

The platform is intended to bring about extensive electro- mobility- specific standardizations across a large number of vehicle models, for example in the battery package, in the charging properties to match the IONITY charging technology or the vehicle proportions. Special features of the PPE platform compared to the MEB platform are, for example, higher maximum speeds, accelerations, ranges and loading speeds.
