Primary leaf

When the primary leaf , young leaf , Protophyll or Eophyll the first are leaves of a plant referred to, according to the cotyledons (cotyledons) or low sheets are formed.

However, these first leaves are only given this name if they are designed differently from the subsequent leaves. Usually they are designed more simply.

The primary leaves, which are already in place in the embryo, were called feuilles primordiales by Augustin-Pyrame de Candolle in 1813 . Goebel replaced the term primordial leaves in 1883/84 with primary leaves. The term eophyll was first used by Tomlinson in 1960.
