Great art
Prima Art is a Produzentengalerie that in 1986 in Kiel , in the context of that Muthesius Art FH Kiel today Muthesius Academy Kiel , founded by art students. For this purpose the 'Verein für Prima Kunst' was founded by Frauke Drews, Vaclav Gatarik, F. Jörg Haberland , Peter Lange, Frithjof Meier, Aurel Rückner, Katja Plaehn (formerly Al-Hadry) and Insa Winkler and entered into the register of associations registered at the district court of Kiel.
The first exhibition room was set up at the parade ground in a loft building and was used until the move in 1989 to the new address Fleethörn in Kiel. In these and other places in the city, well over 100 exhibitions have been opened in the last 30 years . The organizational composition of the gallery, which has changed over the years, is primarily made up of artists from the university environment. Since 2003 art historians from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel have also been participating .
The specialty of the gallery lies in its thirty years of tradition and idea. Since 2003, the gallery has also had a project room in the form of an ISO container attached to the Stadtgalerie Kiel . With this container, the current organizers (Felisha Bahadur, Yasmin Birkandan, Ina Gajewski, Fatma Validas, Livia Hanson, Robert Hecht, Nina Resl, David Scheffler, Daniela Takeva) operate a project and concept space in which regional, national and international artists in Present work every two months.
It is an alternative project space for young, aspiring artists from Germany and abroad. The purpose of the institution is to revive the young art scene in the region, to promote un-established contemporary artists and to build and maintain regional, supraregional and international networks. The openings are synchronized with those of the city gallery. In addition to the regular exhibitions in the Prima Kunst Container, several major events were organized.
