Princess (potato)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Princess potato variety

Princess is an early, waxy potato variety .

This variety with dark yellow flesh and oval tubers has a reticulated skin. It is hardly susceptible to scab and rhizoctonia . It is suitable for organic cultivation.

It has an early bulbous appearance. Their starch content is always at a low level, which guarantees the waxy properties. However, the starch content can also fall below 10%, which results in impaired taste and poor shelf life. Furthermore, she has a tendency to overgrowth .

It should be tested with caution on farms that struggle a lot with iron stain . Princess is resistant to the Ro1 pathotype of the gold nematode . It should be noted that some literature sources advise against the use of the herbicidal active ingredient metribuzin in post-emergence treatments.
