Prince Regent Luitpold Medal

The Prince Regent Luitpold Medal was donated by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bavaria on June 30, 1905 as a merit and commemorative medal in gold and silver . On his 90th birthday, the crown was also founded .

The oval medal shows the head of the founder turned to the left with the inscription " LUITPOLD PRINZ-REGENT VON BAYERN ". On the reverse a crowned coat of arms with the Bavarian Wecken and all around " IN TREVE FEST " and the year 1905 .

When awarded with the crown, it was attached between the medal and the ring.

The band is ponceau red for civilians and vermilion red with light green stripes for the military .

The gold medal was worn around the neck, the silver one on the ribbon on the left breast.

Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen is one of the people honored with this medal .
