The Prion Pond is a large pond on Bird Island in the South Georgia archipelago in the South Atlantic . It is east of Prince Creek .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1982 based on the name of the neighboring Fairy Point . Namesake of this headland, the brooding on Prince Creek fairy prion ( English fairy prion ).
